At Sukun Islamic School, we believe every hardworking student deserves recognition, and every family deserves support in raising righteous, high-achieving children. Merit Scholarships are awarded from Grade I onwards to students who achieve outstanding academic results, while our Sibling Waiver supports families with more than one child enrolled at Sukun — together making a trilingual, Cambridge-aligned Islamic education more accessible to sincere, practising families.
Merit Scholarship
Recognising Diligence and Sincere Effort
SIS proudly rewards students who demonstrate consistent academic excellence and sincere striving (ijtihad) in their studies — a reflection of the trust their families place in us. Merit Scholarships are awarded from Grade I onwards, based on a student's performance in the Year Final Examination, and are granted for the full academic year.

How It's Awarded
The scholarship percentage is fixed at the start of the academic year, based on the student's position in the Year Final Examination, and is granted for the full academic year — it will not be increased or decreased simply because of a change in position later in the year.
Worked Example
A student securing 2nd position in the Year Final Examination is awarded a 40% Merit Scholarship. Even if that student later rises to 1st position in the First Semester Final Examination, the scholarship remains at 40% — and, equally, it will not be reduced simply because they slip to 3rd position. The award is fixed for the year; only falling below the required minimum marks affects it.
Retention Requirement
Minimum Marks to Retain the Scholarship
Checked at the First Semester Final Examination, these are the minimum marks a student must maintain to continue holding their Merit Scholarship for the rest of the academic year.
Maintaining Your Scholarship
If a student fails to achieve the required minimum marks in the First Semester Final Examination, the Merit Scholarship will be revoked for the remainder of that academic year. As scholarships are awarded afresh each year on the basis of the Year Final Examination, this is simply an encouragement to keep striving consistently — not only at the start of the year, but right through to the end.
Sibling Waiver
Supporting Families with More Than One Child at SIS
Families with more than one child enrolled at Sukun Islamic School receive a fee waiver on every sibling's account — our way of honouring the trust of families who choose SIS for more than one of their children.
The waiver is granted individually to each child, and its continuity depends on that child's own academic engagement. Should any sibling fail an examination in a given semester, that sibling's own waiver is revoked — while waivers held by brothers or sisters who continue to meet the school's academic requirements remain entirely unaffected. Guardians should understand that the Sibling Waiver is a privilege subject to continued satisfactory academic performance, and not an unconditional fee reduction.

Our Scholarship Philosophy
Achievement, Without a Trace of Pride
وَتَعَاوَنُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلْبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ
‘And cooperate in righteousness and piety.’
Sūrah Al-Mā’idah 5:2
At SIS, we celebrate achievement with humility. Merit scholarships are communicated privately to each family, never through public rankings, leaderboards or announcements.
This approach encourages healthy motivation, protects a child's confidence, and reflects the Islamic values of ikhlaas (sincerity), modesty, and mutual respect — so that a child strives to please Allah first, and never simply to be seen or praised by others.
Sincerity of intention is nurtured over comparison and competition with peers.
Modesty in success — no public rankings, no leaderboard culture, no showing off.
Mercy in setbacks — a paused scholarship is never a punishment, only a pause.
