DAILY SCHOOL LIFE
Attendance, Uniform, Homework & Health
📅 Attendance
- Students must punch their RFID ID card at least 5 minutes before their first class — without it, attendance cannot be recorded that day.
- Arriving more than 30 minutes late may mean the student is marked absent for the day.
- Attendance carries 10 marks in every subject across each assessment period.
- Leave must be applied for via the EximusEdu app, stating the reason, ideally in advance.
⚠️ Important: A minimum of 75% attendance is required to sit for a semester’s formal assessment. Missing more than 35% of classes puts admission at risk of cancellation.
👕 Uniform
- Boys: white thobe (navy border), white payjama, white net cap (tupi), black socks and shoes.
- Girls: white abaya (navy border), white payjama, white hijab (navy border), black niqab from Upper KG onwards, black socks, black flat shoes.
- Uniforms must follow the school’s specifications — our designated tailors are recommended for consistency.
- Parents are encouraged to keep at least two full sets so a clean uniform is always ready.
⚠️ Important: A student not in complete uniform will not receive attendance marks for that day.
🍽️ Food Policy
- Students bring a home-made, healthy, halal tiffin and a water bottle daily.
- An optional monthly meal plan (three meals a day) is available through the school office.
- Sharing food between students is gently discouraged, to manage allergies and hygiene.
- Junk food, fizzy drinks and excessively sugary snacks are discouraged in tiffin boxes.
🏥 Health & Medication
- Personal cleanliness and good grooming are expected daily.
- A child showing signs of contagious illness should be kept home until fully recovered.
- Medication is never administered without prior written parental authorization, and is handed to the class teacher or office directly.
- Allergies, asthma or chronic conditions must be disclosed in writing at admission.
⚠️ Important: In a medical emergency, the school contacts parents immediately and arranges urgent transport where necessary.
📚 Homework
- Homework is age-appropriate in quantity and difficulty, increasing gradually through the grades.
- Checked and given feedback promptly, so children see the value of their effort.
- Missed homework is not verified after the assigned due date, to keep things fair for everyone.
👪 Parent Tip: Set up a consistent, quiet homework time and space at home — predictability helps children settle into ‘homework mode’.
CONDUCT & SAFETY
Discipline, Behaviour & Protection
⚖️ Discipline Policy
- SIS practices Positive Discipline — firm on principle, always gentle and merciful in method, rooted in the Prophetic model.
- Correction follows graduated steps: Gentle Reminder → Clear Conversation → Natural Consequence & Parent Notice → Parent Meeting → Administrative Review.
- Harshness, humiliation and physical punishment are never permitted.
🤝 Behaviour Expectations
- Greet with salam; speak respectfully to teachers, staff and classmates.
- Take care of school property and the belongings of others; be honest, even when difficult.
- Simple daily adab: say Bismillah before starting a task, Alhamdulillah after eating, Astaghfirullah when correcting a mistake.
🛡️ Anti-Bullying
- Zero tolerance for physical, verbal, social or online (cyber) bullying.
- Every report is investigated promptly and privately — never in front of peers.
- Both children involved are supported with compassion; families are informed with respect for privacy.
👶 Child Protection & Safeguarding
- Children are released only to their registered parent/guardian, or someone specifically pre-authorized in writing.
- Guardians may not enter classrooms unsupervised during school hours, to protect privacy and safety.
- Any concern about a child’s wellbeing is treated with urgency, confidentiality and care.
⚠️ Important: Safeguarding concerns are never dismissed, delayed, or set aside — regardless of who is involved.
🚨 Emergency Procedures
- Fire: calm, orderly line-up and evacuation via the nearest safe exit; attendance taken at the assembly point.
- Earthquake: students Drop, Cover, and Hold On, then move to the open assembly area once shaking stops.
- Lost Child: immediate, organised search; gates secured; parents informed without delay.
⚠️ Important: National Emergency Service (Bangladesh): 999. School Office: 01712-184331 / 01992-773672.
📝 Complaint Procedure
- Step 1: Speak with the Class Teacher — most concerns resolve here.
- Step 2: Escalate to the Section Coordinator if unresolved.
- Step 3: Submit in writing to the School Administration.
- Step 4: Administration follows up with a decision or resolution plan.
